The 3D printing order process for OEM and batch production should connect the file revision, quotation, sample approval, production requirements and delivery plan. Zesmir handles custom manufacturing through a manual RFQ review; a retail Shop checkout is a separate route, not the industrial quotation system.
Step 1: Prepare the Project Information
Send the available STL, STEP, OBJ, drawing or clear reference photos with finished size, units, quantity, intended use and delivery country. Identify the current revision and any confidential information before sharing. You do not need to assume that an online account or customer ID is required to start a custom-project review.
Step 2: Manual File Review and Quotation
The team reviews the submitted information to prepare a quotation or ask for missing details. Initial quotation review is free; modeling, CAD repair, detailed DFM, engineering calculations, testing and other additional work require a separately agreed scope and fee. Include the following requirements:
- Material and route: state a requirement or describe the use. Confirmed starting routes include SLA 9000HE resin, MJF PA12, SLS 3201PA-F nylon and FDM ABS; other routes need project-specific review.
- Quantity: single prototype or batch production
- Schedule: requested sample, approval and arrival dates; feasibility is confirmed after review
- Surface finishing: sanding, painting, dyeing, or as-printed
For multi-part RFQs, label each file with its revision and quantity. Ask for sample, batch, finishing, packaging and shipping items to be separated so the quotation can be checked against the same scope.

Step 3: Order Confirmation and Payment
Before payment or production, confirm the file revision, proposed process and material, finish, quantity, price, acceptance requirements, packaging, delivery terms and any approval sample. Use the payment method and instructions stated in the agreed quotation. Do not assume that prepaid balances, volume discounts or priority processing are available unless specifically agreed.
Production Updates for Batch Orders
Agree how production updates will be shared and which milestones matter: approved files, printing, post-processing, agreed inspection and packing. A buyer may request relevant photos or records where available, but the quotation should define what will be supplied. Manual project updates should not be confused with a real-time production dashboard.
Shipping and Logistics Tracking
Confirm the destination, shipping address and available carrier service before dispatch. Freight and transit time depend on the packed shipment and route. Where tracking is provided by the carrier, use the supplied tracking details; do not assume that an integrated industrial order portal exists.
Industry Applications
The workflow can support appearance prototypes, fit-check housings, fixtures, custom display models and reviewed small-batch projects. Safety-critical, patient-contact or regulated applications require their own material, process and validation assessment; a general quotation or prototype approval does not qualify a surgical guide or load-bearing aerospace component.
